Nudedudes Cheddar and Ale aka Spuddie

Way back in 2003, I was getting ready to move into my own house with my fiancé Sam and we both realised how quiet it would have been moving out of the house and into an empty cat free home! I have very bad allergies to cats, but heard that some people can live to tolerate the sphynx.

I looked into it over a few months and came across a breeder who was very close to me, that is how I came to meet Jen as she invited me for a visit to see and speak about this great breed and to see whether I would have any reactions to the cats.

When I got there I found Jen to be very nice and extremely talkative when it come to Sphynx talk, I knew then that if I had any problems I could get in touch and she would be there for me :) it was fantastic that after spending a lot of time with the cats I had no reaction, so we were on the go for a sphynx addition to my family. While visiting Jen, my fiancé Sam fell in love with a gorgeous girl Hayley who was a fuzzy (part devon Rex, part sphynx) We were told that she was not for sale and everyone seemed to ask for her.

To cut a very long story short, eighteen months later May 2005, we had an arrival of a lovely tabby kitten Spuddie (I know Jen seems to have so many people with Spuddie’s, he was originally called Titan before we completely confused Jen by calling him Spuddie) who i had been waiting ages for and also a lovely fuzzy Hayley, we were overjoyed that we had been entrusted with one of Jens own cats and a kitten from her.

Then back in May 2006 i received a phone call from Jen asking me if i would be interested in a lovely tabby boy to rehome as another breeder had asked her for her help in finding this wonderful lad a great home. I was so excited, I received some lovely pictures of him and fell in love with him straight away. They say that one sphynx will never be enough and once you have stroked you will be forever smitten and its true. Every person I talk to about the sphynx agree that once you have one you can never go back, be warned!!

There is not one day that goes by that I do not look at my cats and think what i would be doing now if I had never seen a sphynx. They are my babies and my life and I dread the day when they will no longer be with me. I go to sleep with them by my side and wake every morning to the same.

Spuddie is one in a million to me, he is my gorgeous tabby boy I waited for so long, but believe me the wait is well worth the enjoyment they always give me. Spuddie is the trickster of the house walking down my stairs on his front paws doing a handstand and forever jumping and sitting on doors. Hayley is the lap cat of the house, where ever there is a warm lap to perch she will be there. But she is a real daddies girl, preferring mens knees much more than any female knee!! The lovely Morph is the follower and greeter of the house. He loves nothing more than to follow you to wherever you go in the house and is always sat on the windowsill waiting for me when I come home from work saying "hello".

Hayley

Every cat we get is so different in personality its amazing and I love each individual cat as though they are my children. I never thought the sphynx would become such a major part in my life, but looking back I could never imagine a day without them.

Love and thanks to my trio of baldy babies :)
