Sphynx neuter Erin

Nudedudes Pick-a-Pocket

It is nearly two years ago that we decided it would be lovely to have a Sphynx despite already being staff to two moggies and four Devons. One of our Devons, Michaelene (named after the little character in the Quiet Man), came to us virtually bald. In fact, that is why we picked him. So, it seemed like a natural progression to have a Sphynx.

We had seen Jen's beautiful babies in a magazine, so rang her and had a long chat. I remember thinking at the time that she seemed very knowledgeable about the breed and because of this thought she was much older (sorry,Jen!). Anyway, she said we could go on her waiting list.

It did seem like a very long time before Jen contacted us to say she had a little girl available and wouldwe be interested - previously we had said we wanted a boy. Interested? Are you mad? We had become so excited that the sex was not at all important.

That special day came when Jen delivered Erin to us. I remember being mesmerised as Erin tore around the room at 100mph and then made claim to Michaelene's prized fleecy sleeping bag. (This one's not daft, we thought).

Erin is a Spud and KJ baby and looks like her dad. As for her personality, she is just the sweetest little girl you could ever wish to meet. She is very dog-like. When you come into the room she runs up to greet you and does a little "wrinkly back special", bless her.

She loves to climb. In fact, we had not had her long when she jumped onto the TV (favourite trick) and then onto the mantlepiece. Then, oh dear, our lovely antique mirror above the mantlepiece was about todie. The next thing we saw her flying through the air, all four legs wrapped around the mirror, heading for the deck. Unbelievably, it didn't break and, more importantly, Erin wasn't hurt - little love. The mirror is now drilled firmly to the wall.

Erin does like the men and is daddy's little princess. Her most endearing feature is that she is a licking machine. Every time you kiss her - and that's a lot - that little, pink tongue comes out. She is so sweet.

She is, of course, very greedy but then again, so are the Devons. She is the "chicken monster" and every time the fridge door opens she charges into the kitchen in hope of some and assumes the position.

All her brothers and sisters love her. She is very popular with Michaelene - those two are definitely an item. We are so glad she came to us and are constantly amazed at how much love she gives us all. Nick and I would like to thank Jen so much for choosing us as Erin's new mum and dad.

This little 'person' is an absolute joy and we feel privileged to have her with us.

Nick and Maria kindly rang my daughter and asked her could they name there kitten after her as they loved her name so much. We think this makes Erin even more special and it was really lovely of them to do this.
